You know, there is one thing that sucks about college. When taking seventeen hours worth of Physics, Microbiology, Calculus and Chemistry, you do not have time to take in the news. Such as stupid black people shocking even the most un-shockable white people. Don't know who I am talking about? Sure you do! This week was a good one for people bashing the administration on national television, from someone telling Mr. Cheney to go do something physically impossible to himself, and Kanye West's new most famous quote, "President Bush hates black people."

        Wow. I don't think a more untrue statement has been made in the media recently. Last one that might have ranked with that would have been "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." Kanye West publicly made a fool of himself on national television. Also in his little tirade against the President, Mr. West said that the President wanted all black people "round up and shot." The only funny thing about this was the look on Mike Meyers' face when West said this. It was the old "Oh Crap!" look. Don't tell me you don't know what it is. Its the one where something so completely out of the ordinary has just happened that your to freaked out to respond.

        Lets look at the source of all the supposed racism in the news today. Ever since Katrina hit, there have been complaints and rumors, none of which more false than the supposed racism of the news media and administration. They claim that ever time anyone shows looting down in Lake New Orleans, it is black people doing it. That the only reason the President was slow to respond was because that they were black people. How many people in New Orleans are black? What percentage of the population is black? Upwards of 80%? (If anyone knows exactly let me know) So of course the majority of the people on TV are black! Look at the refugee evacuation shelters. How many of those in there are black? Upwards of 90%? Next thing you know, someone else will be accused of being racist for putting all the black people in the same buildings! How much more idiotic can people get?

        To the credit of Lake New Orleans, they do have equal opportunity looting. I saw one news clip where black and white people were making off with stolen goods. Now lets move on to the President's supposed racism. Bush was slow to respond because they are black. That's a lie, and everyone should know it. The reason Bush was so slow to respond was that he was waiting to see what New Orleans could do for itself. To see what the state of Louisiana could do for itself. The answer apparently was nothing. Bush was in a no win situation, had he went in as soon as the hurricane hit, they would have been saying that he never gave Louisiana a chance, that he was trying to be King Bush, trying to fix everything in his little kingdom, with no regard for states rights.

        So what is the conclusion to this little rant? That no matter what happens, black people who just want white people to be pushed under their heels will do everything in their power to turn a normal situation into one where the white man putting down the black man. Me? I prefer prejudice in companies who won't hire smokers because it raises the companies health insurance rates. I approve of that, and will eventually get to it, I'm sure.
