Well, thought the world had seen the last of me didn't you? You should have known that truth would prevail! No matter how much homework and tests I have to study for, truth shall make its way to the people in the form of my superior ranting and truth-bringing capabilities.

        What is the subject of my rant today? People who apparently don't want to watch their kids so they make other people do it for them. No I am not talking about day care center's, I'm talking about people wanting censorship on web-pages, namely mine. And I hate censorship. 

        In addition to being the webmaster and author for The Page of Truth, I also am the webmaster for two pages for the local Boy Scout District. I do not get paid for my duties there, in fact, I pay to have the website hosted and I pay for the domain name as well. The only thing I asked in return was to put a link to this site on the pages. Well low and behold after about 4 months of my link being up, someone finally got pissed.

        Now if they got pissed at my site, that's one thing, but I had people getting mad at me for the links you see on the left. That's right, I had certain people getting angry because of site content that is not mine to control! If you have been to College Humor before, you would know that some of the material is not suitable for younger children. Sometimes they even post hotlinks that contain somewhat pornographic materials. I do not condone that, but it is their right to do so. Apparently the people decided to go to College Humor and found this. They then proceeded to call the Council office, then the Senior District Executive, then the District Committee Chairman, all because they found something on a site that wasn't even directly linked to the Boy Scout site.

        Ah but that's not where this insanity ends! For they actually did get mad at one portion of my site. Apparently I did not edit some of the e-mails that were sent to me enough for their liking. Those of you who keep track of my site, know that I am not a fan of censorship on any level. I only edit the e-mails I receive the way I do because I am not a big fan of the curse words, and as I have stated before, I don't want any kid learning those words from me. I was asked to take down the link to this site because my e-mails weren't edited enough.

        Now lets look at what this is really about. Lazy Parents. That's right all you people who I hope read this after you ask to take a link off a site for reasons that only liberals think of. You are lazy. Did you know you can control what your kids see on the internet in the easiest ways imaginable? In fact I just did this to see how hard it was. If using Internet Explorer, go to your Tools menu and click options. Go to the Content tab. Did you know that here you can set parental controls for your kids? You don't even have to use the keyboard!!! You get to click your mouse an approximate total of 10 times, and your kids cant see what you don't want them to see! You can't even access www.msn.com without the password! Not only that, but if you are so uninterested in your child that you won't do this, or at least sit in the room with him when he is online, you are not doing your job right. That's right you heard it here. You want the government, you want webmasters, you want cable TV stations protecting your children instead of you. Well you know what? You need to grow up.

        Yeah, you heard me right. Grow up. Take responsibility. Why are you blaming me for things that are put up on other sites, and that your kids COULD look at. If you were doing your proper job as a parent and safe-guarding your child, they wouldn't be able to access those sites anyway. My fault? Blame me? For things that are put up on other sites? That I have no control over? Here I am, doing this for the scouts out of the goodness of my heart, and my link gets the boot for something that I cannot control. Thank you liberal's for instilling the values of lazy parenting into the minds of America's parents. I hope one day that all who complained see the laziness in themselves and start doing their job right, but more than likely they will complain about this as well.

        NOTE: After reading this rant through once or twice I felt the need for this little note at the end. I love scouting. I am an Eagle Scout, a registered Assistant Scoutmaster, and I am currently heading the movement to make a Merit Badge College at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College, in addition to the websites I run for the Scouts out of the goodness of my heart, and the not so plentiful-ness of my wallet. Scouting is a wonderful organization and unless MAJOR changes are made in the organization as a whole, I will defend it till the day I die. THIS site was made to offend people in a comedic manner. I hope that if you are one of the people who caused my link to be kicked from the site, that you are slightly offended, but also that you get a laugh out of this. Because I know that someone, somewhere will. If you have problems with content that you feel is displayed improperly on any site I run, please tell me. I will most likely be very polite and do what I can to help you, without going against my standards. I am sorry that some people felt this way about the links displayed on my page, but that is the wonder of free speech. I can still do it.
