I found a story online the other day, It seems a man in Texas, name Arroyo, was waiting outside a courthouse with an AK-47, wearing a military flack jacket and a bulletproof vest. He was waiting for his wife and son to come out. He was angry for being sued for unpaid child support. So he shot his wife when she came out. He started shooting his son, injuring him, when another citizen, Mark Wilson, with a handgun came up and started shooting Arroyo. Of course the bullets never did him any harm because of the armor he was wearing, but the man distracted Arroyo's attention away from his son, saving the 23 year olds life. Wilson and Arroyo traded shots, until Arroyo hit Wilson, Wilson going down. Then Arroyo walked up to Wilson and shot him some more, while he was on the ground. Arroyo then got in his truck and pulled out, shooting and injuring 3 police officers before he was gunned down. This may seem like a victory for people who want more gun control but look at the facts here. This man did have an illegal weapon that he was using, I agree with the fact that some weapons do need to be outlawed. Not every Tom, Dick, and Harry walking the streets need to have an M16. So immediately you must realize that gun control laws cannot be applied to this man as he was a criminal who would've had a gun anyway. However the man who valiantly gave his life, Mark Alan Wilson, was a hero, WITH a handgun. Just think, if the man hadn't have been there, with his gun, Arroyo very well could have shot his wife and son, drove off, and never been found, as it doesn't take long to shoot someone. As it turns out, Arroyo shot and killed his wife, and only got away with injuring his son, thanks to a concerned citizen with a gun. The man gave his life to save that of another human being, one he did not even know. That makes him one of the great hero's of our age. What more, this should prove to everyone, that citizens need guns. We need them to protect ourselves from those crazy idiots who would try to break into my house; to defend myself and my family from murderers; and mainly, to keep us free. We don't have guns because the present government wants us to ladies and gentlemen, we have guns because a long time ago, we had some men who were sick and tired of a tyrannical government, and fought to be free. Those men, in the document that would define law in this country for the rest of this nations free days, put in that we needed guns, not because back then we had a militia, or because they were less civilized than us, or any other excuse you liberals want to make up. The reason is so the government could not do whatever the heck they want to. When the people have guns, the government will stay in line, and do things for the people. When, as present, the government tries to take away your guns, the government will do things for itself. That is the main reason for guns people. Not to hunt, not to display, they are for self defense. |
